On Monday evening, a bicyclist suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Arden Way near Challenge Way in Sacramento. The incident is the latest major collision making headlines in Sacramento local news.

Crash Near Arden Fair Mall Sends Cyclist to Hospital

Just before 6:00 p.m., Sacramento police responded to reports of a bicyclist struck by a vehicle near Arden Way and Challenge Way. When officers arrived, they discovered a seriously injured cyclist on the ground. Emergency responders from Sacramento Fire transported the bicyclist to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.

The crash prompted a major road closure. Westbound Arden Way between Ethan Way and Challenge Way remained shut down for several hours, restricting access to parts of Arden Fair Mall during the evening rush.

Driver Remained at the Scene

Sacramento police confirmed that the driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers. As of now, authorities have not shared what led up to the incident, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Road Reopened After Hours of Investigation

The roadway closure lasted several hours while traffic investigators worked the scene. Arden Way reopened around 10:30 p.m. once the investigation concluded and officers cleared the area.
