By evening, license plate readers and live cameras picked up the stolen car back in the same area, triggering a police response that included a helicopter. When officers attempted a traffic stop around 9:30 PM, the driver fled.

I heard the initial carjacking call on the scanner around 6 PM. Later that night, the car was spotted again, and a pursuit began through the city. It ended violently when the driver crashed the vehicle through a fence at 35th Ave and Freeport Blvd, flying into a field on Executive Airport property. The car caught fire, and officers bravely pulled the woman from the wreckage before firefighters arrived to put out the blaze.
